Structure of 2019-nCoV
2019 novel coronavirus is also called 2019-nCoV, SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV2. Novel coronavirus and SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV) are of the same class, but not the same species, with single-stranded RNA genes.

2019-nCoV related protein
S pike protein is big and it consists of 2 subunits, S1 and S2. The S protein plays key parts in the induction of neutralizing-antibody and T-cell responses, as well as protective immunity. S1 mainly contains a receptor binding domain (RBD), which is responsible for recognizing the cell surface receptor. S2 contains basic elements needed for the membrane fusion. Recent research mainly focuses on S1-RBD protein, which is target point for antibody drugs.

N protein and viral genome RNA entwined each other to form viral nucleocapsid, which plays an important role in the synthesis of viral RNA. At the same time, N protein is relatively conservative, which accounts for the largest proportion in the Structure protein of the virus. At the early stage of infection, the organism can produce high-level antibodies against N protein. Therefore, N protein can be used to establish a rapid 2019-ncov serum antibody detection method.

2019-nCov Nucleic Acid Testing Kit
Detection Principle
Qualitative detecting of both ORF1ab and N gene of 2019-nCoV by fluorescent PCR.
N protein gene is relatively conservative, and will cross with other virus genes, which may easily lead to misdiagnosis. While ORF1ab gene has high specificity, detecting both N protein and ORF1ab gene can be more effectively and could avoid misdiagnosis.
Nucleic Acid Detection takes an average of 2-3 hours, and the experiment process requires automatic nucleic acid extraction instrument and fluorescence quantitative PCR instrument.

Detection Principle
Using colloidal gold immunochromatography detects both IgG and IgM antibodies in (finger blood, serum, plasma) samples.
Significance
IgM + IgG joint detection-monitoring of 2019-nCoV infections throughout the cycle (early, middle and late)
• IgM and IgG are two different antibodies produced by the human body against pathogenic microorganisms (including viruses).
• IgM is the first antibody that appears after infection. The 2019-nCoV infection peaks after 3-7 days, and gradually decreases thereafter. IgM Detection can indicate early infection.
• IgG is an antibody produced in large quantities when B cells enter the lymph nodes and differentiate into plasma cells in the middle and late stage of infection. IgG detection indicates the recovery after infection or infection is taking place.
