Anaphylaxis is also called allergic reaction, and refers to hypersensitive response of immune system of the body against foreign substances. Anaphylaxis is the common multiple systemic disease, showing a strong systemic reaction of a tissue or organ after inhaling, ingesting, touching or injecting the allergen.
Typical allergic diseases include asthma, rhinitis, allergic eczema, conjunctivitis, food allergies, drug allergies, and anaphylactic shock etc. The most common diseases are allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma caused by pollen, dust mite, fungus and pets etc.
Allergen
Substances causing allergic reaction are called allergens.
1. Food Allergen
e.g. milk, egg, fish and shrimp, beef and mutton, seafood, animal fat, foreign protein, alcohol, narcotics, antibiotic, anticatarrhals, sesame oil, flavor, scallion, ginger, garlic, some vegetables and fruits etc.
2. Contact Allergen
e.g. cold air, hot air, pollen, catkin, dust, mite, animal dander, lampblack, paint, automobile exhaust, gas, cigarette etc. Common daily necessities: perfume, nail polish, cosmetics, rubber etc.
3. Injectable Allergen
e.g. penicillin, streptomycin, xenogeneic serum etc. Insect bite: sting from hornet and bee.
4. Autoantigen
Biological, physical and chemical factors affect structure or composition of autoantigen, such as mental tension, working pressure, microbial infection, ionizing radiation, burn etc. Concealed autoantigen released by trauma or infection can be also allergens.
Based on over 10 years in producing high-quality ELISA kits, proteins and antibodies, FineTest has developed over 200 anaphylaxis and allergen ELISA kits.
