Q1. What is the shelf life of FineTest® ELISA products?
A1. 6 months since production date. For lot-specific expiration date, pls refer to the box label.
Q2. What is the stability of FineTest® products?
A2. All FineTest® Elisa Kits have been passed strict quality test before shipping out.
Q3. Can I use different components from other companies for my Elisa assay?
Q4. What antibody clones are used in your Elisa Kits?
A4. The information is proprietary. However the clonality(polyclonal or monoclonal) and host species details may be provided upon request.
Q5. We ran out of capture/detection antibody in our Elisa kit. Can we use a standalone/single antibody to replace it?
A5. No, pls contact your supplier for additional components.
Q6. Can I mix reagents from different Elisa Kits?
A6. It is not recommended. The Elisa reagents are optimized for a particular set lot.
Q7. Can FineTest® Elisa Kits be used partially?
A7. Yes, the Elisa plate is removable and 96T kit owns enough volume of components to allow two sets of standard curve.
Q8. Once lyophilized standard is diluted, how long can it be stored if we want to continue to use?
A8. It needs to be used within 24 hours.
Elisa Assay with FineTest Kits
Q9. Why I need to wash the plate two times before adding while use a FineTest® Elisa Kits?
A9. We typically use a stabilizer for pre-coated plates. The washings were designed to remove these components before the assay.
Q10. Does phenol red in the medium interfere with an ELISA assay?
Q11. I have multiple FineTest® Elisa Kits that I want to run simultaneously. Can I use the same wash buffer for all the kits?
A11. Almost all FineTest® Elisa Kits wash buffer is the same. But you need to double check with us before experiment.
Q12. Why is the OD value of those diluted sample higher than that of samples without dilution?
A12. There are too many proteins in the serum, which might block target antibody-antigen combining causing a wrong result. A suitable dilution can maximally reduce the block.
Q13. How long Does it take for my assay with FineTest® Kits?
A13. 3.5-4 hours for Sandwich Elisa Kits, 2-2.5 hours for competitive Elisa Kits.
Q14. How can I obtain a better signal for my Elisa assay?
A14. Increase incubation times to make sure the standard is completely reconstituted.
Samples for FineTest Elisa Kits
Q15. Why my sample concentrations are different on the FineTest® Kits vs other Elisa Kits?
A15. Currently, it is very difficult to obtain the exactly same data when comparing different kits from different vendors, especially pg/ml levels. The general consensus is that it is more important to have matching biological trend instead of matching absolute concentrations. This is to say that the same sample measured by different kits from different vendors should show the same pattern of biological changes predicted for the relevant biological treatments. It is more critical that kits produced by the same vendor to keep its assay products consistent from lot-to- lot over time.
Q16. Can I use your Elisa Kits for tissue samples?
A16. Almost all FineTest® Elisa Kits can be used for tissue/cell extract/homogenate samples as long as the samples are prepared in a proper way.
Q17. Why do my serum samples require dilution?
A17. Dilution with buffer is required to minimize the matrix difference between the samples and the standards to achieve better accuracy.
Q18. What is the expected concentration of a particular analysis for my samples?
A18. Since every sample is unique, it is difficult to predict as this may depend on the sample preparation and the nature of the analyses. Pls contact us for referred testing data.
Q19. How many samples can I run with FineTest® Elisa Kits?
A19. It depends on how your samples are analyzed whether in duplicate or triplicate. For example you can run 80 samples with no replicates or 40 samples in duplicates and so on.
